Speaking in an interview, The Lead-Corporate Social Responsibility- Corporate Affairs, Veronica Ngulube said that “Blood donation is vital and a lifesaving service, as airtel, we are honored to help save lives. We are grateful to our employees and partner organizations who show their generosity and compassion by taking part in our annual blood donation drive. We encourage more people to join us in this noble act of kindness and are looking forward to supporting Malawi Blood Transfusion Service with more donors next year.”

Commenting on the event, Malawi blood transfusion service Lilongwe Public Relations Officer, Upile Kaimvi said the collaboration gave a favorable outcome ‘‘As MBTS we are overwhelmed and we anticipate that the airtel staff from other branches like Mzuzu and Blantyre will imitate their colleagues.’’

MBTS is mandated to supply secure blood to all patients requiring blood transfusion, as such, the organization is always delighted when corporate companies organize their staff and voluntarily donate blood. Therefore, MBTS is calling upon other corporate organizations to take part in the blood donation activities.
